This year's Heritage Day celebration will take place on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 1pm to 8pm at the Historic Copley Circle.
The Fire and Rescue Association will put on a pancake breakfast at the Copley Fire Station from 8 a.m. to noon and will have equipment on display throughout the day.
The PTA will have a rummage sale (donated items) at Copley High School at the same time as the pancake breakfast.
Copley Heritage Day festivities will be officially kicked off with a bang at 1 p.m. when the War of 1812 cannon is fired off. The festivities go until 8 p.m.
There will be plenty of activities for kids at the middle school, including a bounce house, rock climbing wall, bungee run, fun house and dunk tank.
Magic City Cruisers will put on a car show at the Copley Methodist Church and food will be sold in the church’s basement.
The Circle will be filled with craft and food vendors of all sorts, which means no one should go home hungry.
A bake contest will be held at Copley Veteran’s Post, located at 3255 Copley Rd. Contact Polly Priess at (330)666-6308 for entry info.
Fast Lanes in Barberton will donate — 50 percent of the bowling fees on Thursdays from April 1 to August 1 — to Copley Heritage Day. Bowlers just need to mention Heritage Day and fill out a small form.
Letters were sent out to vendors inviting them to have booths and participate in Heritage Day. If you are a vendor and did not receive a letter, contact Kathi Fundak Corathers at (330)753-1913.
Letters were also sent to local businesses seeking financial support. It’s only because of past generosity from the community that it is possible to have Copley Heritage Day. Businesses wishing to contribute, should contact Bill Daniel at (330)666-5582.
We still need volunteers to help coordinate the fesitivities. For more info call Darryl at 330-671-3590 or Kathi at 330-753-1913/957-1591 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
